Weight
training and strength training builds muscles (lean body mass) and
increases your energy level and metabolism. Weight training causes
micro-tears (also known as microtrauma) to the muscles being trained.
These micro-tears in the muscle causes soreness to be felt after an
exercise. When the micro-tears are repaired the muscle rebuilds and
grows a little larger then it was before. Once the muscle becomes
adapted to the exercise, the soreness then tends to decrease. Below is
a list of basic weight lifting and bodybuilding exercises to increase
strength, while building muscle size and improving muscle tone.
